What is a geode?
Geodes, also known as crystal nodules, are a type of geological formation commonly found in the United States, Brazil, and Mexico. They are essentially hollow cavities within rocks lined with crystals, typically containing quartz crystals and/or chakedony deposits. The outer shell of a geode is composed of limestone or related rocks. These cavities may originate from gas bubbles in igneous rocks, hollow spaces under tree roots, or even burrows dug by animals Over extended periods the outer walls of these cavities harden, while dissolved silicates and/or calcite gradually deposit on the inner surfaces. With the passage of time, minerals slowly permeate the cavity allowing crystals to crystallize within. Eventually, after millions of years, geodes return to the Earth's surface through geological movements.

Every crystal cavity is a unique natural work of art, and the crystal struct re within each one is not exactly the same as the other.
